Inertial navigation systemis a system product which is integrated by inertial sensors such as gyroscope、acceleration sensor and navigation algorithm software.Gyroscope and acceleration sensor are the core devices, which play a decisiverole in the accuracy of the system.Inertial navigation products mainly include inertial navigation system（INS）, attitude referencesystem(AHRS) and inertial measurement unit(IMU). Among them, INS can providethree-dimensional motion parameters such as acceleration and angular velocityof the carrier, and obtain important information such as the position andattitude of the carrier according to the above parameters. AHRS usesacceleration sensor, gyroscope and electronic compass to measure the motionparameters and azimuth of the carrier. Through processing and calculating themeasured values, the real-time tracking and monitoring of the position andmotion state of the carrier is realized. IMU is a device which usesacceleration sensor and gyroscope to measure the acceleration and angularvelocity of the carrier in order to get the motion and state of the carrier ininertial reference frame.
Inertial navigation wasoriginally designed for military needs. It mainly provides navigation andcontrol services for aviation, space, ground and maritime military users. It isthe core and key technology product of modern national defense system. It iswidely used in military aircraft, missiles, ships, nuclear submarines andtanks. In 2015, the market capacity of inertial products for R&D andnational defense equipment in China will reach 29.3 billion yuan.

In recent years, China'senterprises engaged in research and development of inertial technology productsand production in the field of national defense have been dominated by severalmilitary industry research institutes such as aerospace and weapons.
